For over two decades, Catalyst Solutions has partnered with health plans to provide business process outsourcing and consulting services.  Our clients serve all lines of business and range from start-up health plans to the largest payers in the country. Our mission is to help plans improve healthcare outcomes, gain efficiencies, and drive down costs.

As we only work with health plans, our expertise is not only broad, but also deep.  We offer solutions spanning the health plan front, middle and back offices; intently focusing on ways to optimize the process, technology, and tools leveraged.

Chief Executive Officer

Rachel Spilo

As Founder and CEO of Catalyst Solutions, Rachel manages the strategic vision as well as day to day operations of Catalyst, making sure that Catalyst’s standards of quality are not only met but exceeded. In the past 20 years, Catalyst has grown from a local Colorado consulting firm to a large-scale national player in the payer marketplace. Rachel personally ensures that the company and its employees adhere to the core values of Catalyst set forth years ago and that the company maintains its original integrity.

Rachel has won numerous awards including Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the Small Business Administration, as well as yearly recognition from INC Magazine and Colorado Business Magazine.

A native of Southern Missouri, Rachel currently resides in Denver, Colorado working out of the Catalyst headquarters. In her spare time, she enjoys boating, adventure travel, and spending time with her husband and three boys.

Sas Mukherjee

Sas Mukherjee joins Catalyst Solutions as the new President, bringing with him over 25 years of extensive and diverse experience in the healthcare, technology & services industries, and beyond. Sas has demonstrated a proven ability to lead organizations through significant transformations, achieving exponential growth and operational excellence, delivering high returns for investors, founders, and employees.

Sas’s leadership is marked by a unique blend of strategic vision and a culture-first approach. He is known for his inclusive, empowering leadership style, and for building high-performing global teams. As CEO Rachel Spilo notes, “His diverse expertise across healthcare payer, provider, and physician sectors, coupled with his success in a range of roles from Board Member to CEO and CFO across a variety of company types, makes him uniquely qualified for this role. Sas’s inclusive, empowering, and talent-nurturing leadership style aligns perfectly with our culture. His experience spans across various leadership roles:

In his tenure as Chief Executive of the Americas at a Blackstone portfolio, Global BPO Services company, Sas led substantial growth in healthcare and other strategic sectors, leading to a successful sale to a strategic buyer.

His role as Divisional CFO and Head of Strategy & Business Excellence at Kaiser Permanente saw him playing a pivotal role in large-scale transformation and supporting revenue growth.

Recently as CFO for Gainwell Technologies, a private equity portfolio company, serving ~60 million Medicaid Members, standing up the company through a carve-out, subsequent M&A, and synergy savings delivery supporting growth and differentiated solution delivery.

Prior to this, as CFO and Chief Strategy Officer for York Risk Services Group, a portfolio company of Onex, Sas successfully steered the company through a transformative turnaround, culminating in a sale to Carlyle.

As CFO & Head of Corporate Development at Serco Global Services, Division of FTSE 100 Serco Plc., a global Services company, Sas supported the transition of a private equity portfolio company to a publicly traded company through integration, growth, carve out, and sale to Blackstone.

Earlier in his career, Sas served as a Managing Director at a Big 4 consulting firm, where he managed a global center of excellence, advising Fortune 500 companies on transformation, globalization, outsourcing, and technology implementation.

Sas serves on the boards of several non-profit and industry organizations, is a sought-after speaker at industry conferences, and advises analyst firms and institutional investors, reflecting his broad expertise and insight of the industry.

Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Joel Olson

Joel Olson serves as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the company.

In this role, he leads all Sales and Marketing activities for the company to bring thought leadership in solving the most complex healthcare initiatives.

Joel has held leadership, sales, and project roles for some of the highest profile clients in the healthcare market for the last 12 years. Joel has a strong team focus and a background in plan execution, beginning with his career in the US Coast Guard. Joel spent 14 years leading operational and support teams across the globe including two tours to the Middle East and later spent three years in the Arizona Army National Guard. Joel Earned a BA in Business Management and an MBA while serving in the Armed Services. Upon entering the civilian world, Joel found his calling in sales and has worked with some of the largest firms in the healthcare industry.

Joel welcomes the opportunity to network across disciplines, and then utilizing those relationships to bring plans, people, and companies together by finding common ground and purpose.

SVP, Operations & Business Consulting

Chris Parr

Chris is responsible for managing all BPO Operations and Staff Augmentation resources and overseeing our Business Consulting Engagements. Chris’s focus is ensuring that we are meeting all customer SLA’s, metrics and expectations while maximizing our operational performance and efficiencies.

Chris brings over 25 years’ experience in health plan and TPA Operations to his role.  With Tufts Health Plan, Chris worked throughout health plan operations in multiple roles including serving as the Director of Claims Operations, Member and Provider Services, Benefit Configuration and Business Implementation.  Prior to joining Catalyst, Chris served as the Vice President of Operations for Health Plans Inc., a 3rd Party Administrator, overseeing all Operations functions which included Claims Operations, Customer Service, Benefit Configuration, Enrollment and Billing, Provider Reimbursement, Reinsurance and Customer Reporting.

Vice President, People and Culture

Michael Coomer

Michael has a background in Human Resources leadership for nearly 20 years, working in various industries.  He leads with a culture-first approach and believes strongly in the People & Culture department as being a team that builds connections and provides excellent service to the employees of the company.  Michael has built multiple HR departments in his career from the ground up and specializes in building and scaling businesses strategically.  Additionally, he has spearheaded efforts to help companies reach Best Places to Work status by focusing on culture and engagement. 

Michael holds a PhD. In Organizational Development and Leadership from the University of Arizona and a Masters in Human Resources Management from the University of Phoenix.  He is certified with SHRM and PCI and is an active member of SHRM in the country.   

In his spare time Michael enjoys music (listening, playing, writing, and going to live events), basketball, and spending time with his wife, 2 kids, dog, and cat in the Denver area. 

Director of IT

Paul Green

Paul leads our IT team and is responsible for ensuring Catalyst’s network, infrastructure and geographically distributed work force are operating securely and efficiently. 

Paul spent several years with hospitals and health insurers early in his career, before transitioning into IT consulting and leadership roles in the mining and process manufacturing industries.   His focus at Catalyst is ensuring we have a resilient and secure IT environment.Paul earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia College, and an MBA (Technology Management) from University of Phoenix.  He also holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.  Paul and his family live in Denver Colorado area. 

Vice President, BPO Operations

Scott Shelton

As Vice President of BPO Operations, Scott Shelton is responsible for leading cost-effective, high-performing engagements in Catalyst’s Business Process Outsourcing and Staff Augmentation practices.  In this capacity, Scott has oversight of outsourcing functions inclusive of claims, call center, configuration, member enrollment, provider data services, user acceptance testing and medical management.  Scott is able to leverage his nearly 30 years of healthcare experience and Catalyst’s robust menu of services to enable health plan clients to focus on the more important aspects of healthcare – driving health outcomes and optimizing member experience.

As a proven healthcare operations and services leader, Scott brings data-driven, client-focused solutions and strategic execution to deliver optimization of business processes, primarily through automation, to drive enhanced productivity, effective resource allocation, and cost reduction.

Prior to joining Catalyst in late 2021, Scott served in leadership roles with DST Health Solutions, Centene, Cahaba GBA (a subsidiary of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama), United Healthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi.

Vice President, Client Solutions

Lon Waterman

Lon is responsible for the leadership of the client solutions team as well as the oversight of all client relationships for Catalyst Solutions . Through his guidance, Catalyst Solutions solves the complex business challenges of health plans. Lon has over 20-years of experience providing solutions to health plans and health systems including improving revenue integrity, clinical efficiency and efficacy; reducing operational waste, and mitigating adverse outcome risks.

Prior to joining Catalyst, Lon led a number business development charges for several national healthcare organizations including Mercy Virtual Care Center, Relias, Cardinal Health at Home and Healthcare Solutions. He is driven by the desire to listen, identify, and solve the challenges that impede healthcare continuity and growth.

Lon earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Evangel University, a small Midwest private liberal arts college, graduating with honors. Residing in Southwest Missouri, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children swimming, hiking, traveling, snowmobiling, biking, and other family-oriented activities.

Vice President, Operations

Christine Henderson

Christine Henderson is Vice President of Operations, servicing the Central Region. Christine has extensive knowledge of health plan operations, new product line setup, business configuration, and readiness. Her background also includes training, solution scalability, and providing a positive ROI. Her experience with analytics, state, and federal compliance, and all things service operations (customer service, claims, UM, etc.) provide her with a strong background to tackle any client’s needs. Client success is at the top of Christine’s mind at all times. She emphasizes their current footprint, while at the same time assisting them in planning for upcoming changes in the industry.

Christine has over 20 years in the healthcare space with escalating roles of responsibility and brings that experience to each project to deliver well above client expectations.

Christine has a Bachelor’s of Science of Finance and Bachelors of Art in Art Education from Colorado State University. She also has her 6 Sigma Green Belt and PMP.

Christine enjoys riding her horses, hiking, biking, throwing pottery in her barn, painting, and just about anything that can be done outside.

Chief Operating Officer

Suraya Yahaya

Suraya Yahaya serves as Chief Operating Officer and Integrator for the company. In this role, Suraya leads all operating functions of the business and is hyper-focused on creating alignment, efficiency, and scale to deliver world-class customer service.

Suraya brings over 20 years of global experience as an attorney, operational strategist, and transformation leader across a variety of industries. Having worn many hats gives her the unique ability to relate to a variety of customer demands and lead teams, driving measurable results and fiscal responsibility.

Prior to joining Catalyst, Suraya served as GM and COO for companies in the technology, consulting, and services sector, where she was instrumental in transforming and growing organizations to multi-million dollar operations.

Scott Martin

Scott Martin is the President of Catalyst Solutions. Scott has over 20 years of healthcare experience with a proven track record in business and growth strategy. He is a trusted partner to c-suite executives, helping them maximize their position in the marketplace while ensuring their plans deliver innovative and high-quality service to members and providers. With a deep understanding of the operational and clinical functions within the healthcare plan, Scott’s experience includes Medical Management, Enrollment, Customer Services, Claims, Billing and Data, and Analytics and Reporting.

Scott has worked with health plans to develop solutions that focus on improving organizational effectiveness, technology integration, defining commercialization strategies, and executing new product launches. Before joining the team at Catalyst, Scott was the Associate Vice President of Business Transformation with TriZetto™/Cognizant™. His practice focused on optimization technology and business practices to improve patient outcomes while reducing the cost of care. Prior to TriZetto™/Cognizant™, Scott was the Chief Information Officer with Kocsis Consulting Group – a consulting firm that focuses on helping healthcare payers with large-scale implementations, process improvement, and training.
